Lavender Cookies

1 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 tsp. salt

2 cups flour

Lavender sugar (recipe below)

Cream the butter and sugar. Gradually add the salt and flour, and mix thoroughly. Chill dough for 1 hour, or until it's firm enough to handle.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Form the dough into 1" balls and roll them in the lavender sugar. Press each ball with your thumb and place them on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 12 - 15 minutes then cool on racks. Makes about 3 dozen.


Lavender Sugar

1 cup dried lavender blossoms

1 cup sugar

Mix thoroughly and re-mix regularly during use - it tends to seperate.
