My Interests

Variety...

"Variety is the spice of life." I first heard that statement when I was a very young girl, and for me it has proven to be true. My moods tend to change quite frequently, which, I suppose, is why I don't really have any "favorites" - food, type of music, etc... I enjoy everything from watching professional wrestling, to curling up with a good romance novel, to spending the entire day lying on the beach. I can't imagine how dull life would be without variety!

Wrestling...

Yes, one of my favorite past times is wrestling! I love watching those big, athletic hunks flying around the ring, beating each other senseless. I've been to two live shows, and let me tell ya, there's nothing like it! My favorites are the Undertaker and Kane. I've built a fan site in their honor - The Sisterhood.

Books...

I love to get lost in a good book! My favorite authors are Anne Rice and Stephen King, although I do tend to read more romance than horror. I have an idea for a novel and, if I ever back into a writing mode, I plan to write it.

Nature...

The sun beating down on my skin as I lie next to the ocean; a long, quiet walk through the forest; a cool breeze blowing through my hair as I enjoy a picnic lunch at the park; the feel of the rich, moist soil on my hands as I transplant flowers into the ground... Needless to say, I love being outdoors! I don't mind getting dirty or scratched up as long as I can enjoy the results. Those results, ironically, are just being outside, surrounded by the wonders and beauty of nature. My garden has yet to be planted, but plans have been made and scetches drawn. All I need now is for spring to get here. I will be posting pictures of it when it's complete, then more in a year or so after the plants have reached maturity and are in full bloom. I can hardly wait!

Entertainment...

As with everything else, I enjoy a wide variety of music and movies. My most favorite types of music are classic rock and country, but I enjoy just about every other type you can think of. It's the same with movies. I like romance, horror (but only during the day), mystery, action-adventure... The only consistancy is that I love Steven Seagal. I'm almost always in the mood to watch him kick ass!

Medieval...

The Florida Renaissance Festival. There is nothing better than watching knights in shining armor jousting in a tournament while eating a giant turkey leg, or being surrounded by folk in renaissance attire, speaking the old dialect! Since the Renaissance Festival only comes around once a year, I get my fill through reading books and watching movies. But when the faire is here, I'm the first one in line! This year I'm making costumes for me and the children. My daughter and I will be going as gypsies and my son insists on being a pirate. I, of course, am taking my camera, so I'll have plenty of photos to post, considering I don't leave the camera in the car like I did last year. Grrrr!

Bellydancing

That's right! I've discovered this wonderful, ancient form of dance for myself. It's a wonderful way to stay fit, and it's more fun than the law should allow. It's also much harder than it looks! I only have three videos (for now), and all three are from Veena and Neena. They are excelent! You can find their videos (and more great stuff) at Natural Journeys.

Egyptian History

I love Egypt. From the great pyramids, to the stories of Cleopatra, to mummies and curses. I'm attempting to learn hieroglyphics - at least I want to when I'm not so busy. I've never been there, but I hope to go some day. It'll take a little planning, a lot of saving, and some sweet talking my hubby to get there, but I'm determined.
